Capital Improvement Planning Manager Pay Grade: 619 Location: Central Office Vacancy Announcement Nature Of The Work Office Environment WC 8810 Brief Description The Capital Improvement Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of capital planning efforts to include the Project Management Office's functions to further the strategic objectives of the Brazos River Authority (BRA). The purpose of this position is to develop and support capital planning efforts for the organization through managing all assets owned or controlled by the Brazos River Authority (BRA). Capital planning efforts are leveraged by providing strategic direction to BRA's Risk-Based Asset Management and Capital Planning Program, leading coordination efforts with operations to maintain condition and criticality data on BRA assets, developing an annual 50 year forecast of capital improvements for renewal and replacement of assets, developing an annual set of recommended projects for management team review based on the relative risk priority of BRA assets, and supporting the implementation of those projects to achieve operations and BRA objectives. Other responsibilities include supervising and providing guidance to staff to support the strategic goals of the department and the BRA; ensuring that the BRA Risk-Based Asset Management and Capital Planning Program is improved in accordance with industry best practices; corresponding with stakeholders, local, state, and federal agencies; interacting with internal employees and external consultants; participating in the planning and development of projects; managing the budget for the Program; coordinating the efforts of consultants retained by the BRA to update the asset database; providing condition assessment information for assets; project cost estimating and evaluation of required resources and associated risks to achieve project implementation/completion, and; any other duties as assigned.
