Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Appian Developer to lead our intelligent automation efforts. As a senior contributor, you will lead all aspects of the Appian software development lifecycle including scoping, technical design, development, documentation, testing, deployment and support of application ensuring best practices are followed. This position also must manage and maintain the health of the environment and should take proactive measures to ensure proper performance.

Responsibilities

This role requires collaboration, mentorship, and a willingness to work in a strong team setting to accomplish common goals. You will interact directly with department heads and other leaders to translate business requirements into scalable, resilient Appian solutions with a mix of production fixes and net-new enhancements. This role requires both technical expertise and leadership to ensure high-quality application design, development, and timely delivery within an agile framework.

    Collaborate with team members to gather and interpret business requirements, prototype business solutions, validate user story acceptance criteria and ensure proper implementation of the solution including unit testing, technical problem determination and debugging.

  • Be hands on in the design, development, testing, debugging and implementation of secure, modular, and high-performing Appian applications that adhere to industry best practices including process models, data models, integrations, and user interfaces.

  • Integrate Appian with other business systems using modern API and integration solutions

  • Create detailed technical documentation and ensure proper communication of designs, architecture, and procedures.

  • Implement common database best practices (indexes, triggers, and data structure).

  • Complete code/peer review for other developers as applicable and sign off on design and implementation.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing applications, providing enhancements as needed.

  • Plan and strategize for Appian platform upgrades and how to incorporate new features into existing processes

  • Maintain expert knowledge of the latest Appian trends and innovations, continuously improving application design and development processes.

  • Manage outsourced development resources for high levels of productivity and cost efficiency.

  • Write custom SQL queries against the database to perform analysis/troubleshooting and retrieve audit data as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related engineering fields, or equivalent experience.

  • Appian Certified Lead Developer or equivalent certification is preferred

  • 5+ years of Appian experience including SAIL scripting, process modeling, platform configuration, Web APIs, Integration SDK, RPA, AI, data modeling, UI design and deployment

  • 3+ years of Appian implementation experience including hands-on Appian developer experience in a lead role for production applications.

  • 3+ years of experience creating integrations between Appian and other systems using SOAP, REST, and JSON as well as JDBC and file imports

  • 2+ years experience with Java or JavaScript for custom integrations and extensions.

  • Strong knowledge of relational database management systems, data modeling, database design and SQL.

  • Knowledge of SDLC and ability to participate in all phases

  • Ability to work on multiple tasks, perform in depth code reviews and ensure design and coding are adhering to security and architectural standards

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.

  • Highly adaptable to rapidly changing environments and situations, effectively prioritizing work through well-honed problem-solving skills.

  • Customer service focus

  • Experience with mortgage applications and/or elsewhere within the banking/financial services industry is a strong plus.

  • Experience administering or working in ICE Mortgage Technology's Encompass platform a plus.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $135,000-150,000
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Bonus Type: Year-end Discretionary
