Responsible for maintenance and repair of production equipment and systems in cGMP manufacturing environments and maintaining areas and equipment in a state of inspection readiness. The opportunity: The responsibilities for this position at this level may include, but are not limited to:
Expeditious response to emergency portable refrigeration / ultra-low freezers calls, e.g., customer contact within 30 minutes of a call, in front of the equipment within 60 minutes. AOW - Troubleshooting of autoclaves, washers, oven, and water systems to the component level and repair of said systems. Installation and modification of laboratory instruments. Perform calibrations, repairs, and maintenance of laboratory instruments. Ensure all group designated equipment at Genentech, SSF are operated and maintained in the following manner: All preventative maintenance is performed at the appropriate interval and is completed by the assigned due date. All equipment remains in its designed and/or validated state at all times. All equipment operation is in accordance with Federal, State, local, and Genentech regulations, procedures, and policies. Ensure / maintain all equipment areas in a constant state of inspection readiness; specifically, but not limited to, the following: Cleanliness. Personnel and Equipment Safety. Compliance to cGMP requirements.
Who You Are: (MT2) Maintenance Mechanic:
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco is $42,400 - $78,800. (MT3) Maintenance Mechanic:
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco is $66,000 - $122,600. Preferred Experience:
Completion of an Instrumentation or Industrial Electronics (2-year) curriculum at a technical school. AA/AS Degree in a related science or engineering major. Completion of equivalent military training.
Work Environment/Physical Demands/ Safety Considerations:
Proficiency in the English language- reading, writing, and communication. Must pass all job related medical examinations and tests Ability to read and understand P&lDs, engineering documents and electrical schematics, work from Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate good record keeping practices. Ability to work overtime or temporarily modify shift schedule to support manufacturing operations as needed. Proficiency in understanding of Federal, State, Local and Genentech regulations, procedures, and policies. Working knowledge of refrigeration systems, electrical systems, pressurized systems.
Job Hazards:
Working with / around various chemicals (e.g., acids and bases), solvents, pressurized systems, compressed gases, and biological materials (Recombinant DNA). The job will require working with various chemicals, steam, and pressurized gases / liquids of various temperatures. Work in environments that may include low, medium, or high voltages. Work at elevated heights. Work in loud environments that require ear protection. Work in confined spaces and use of a respirator. Work with energized systems and working in close proximity to moving equipment.
