What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Business Development Specialist to spearhead the execution of strategic programs within our Technology and Economic Development department. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and collaboration across the Department of Energy (DOE) Labs, particularly focusing on the DOE Boost Platform.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Lead Program Initiatives: Oversee and guide program teams across various DOE Labs to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate effectively with program managers and key stakeholders within the DOE Labs and the DOE Office of Technology Transitions to align objectives and enhance program outcomes.

  • Impact Tracking and Communication: Monitor, assess, and communicate the impact of strategic programs, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

  • Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and evaluate growth opportunities for programs, leveraging market trends and stakeholder feedback to inform strategic decisions.



The selected applicant can be a remote worker located in any U.S. State or District of Columbia. Regular or periodic travel to your assigned work location may be required.

Salary Range:

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require:



  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, business, public policy).

  • Proven experience in technical business development, program management, or a related field.

  • Experience with technology transition processes.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.

  • Ability to obtain DOE L Security Clearance



Qualifications We Desire:



  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., engineering, business, public policy).

  • Experience working with federal agencies and technology transition programs.

  • Strong understanding of the DOE landscape and technology transition.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in economic development.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.

  • Proven track record of successful program development and execution in a technical environment.



About Our Team:

Technology and Economic Development Department 1983 leverages the technologies, facilities, and people at Sandia National Laboratories in order to create technology-based economic development in New Mexico; programs include the Sandia Science & Technology Park, New Mexico Small Business Assistance, the Technology Readiness Initiative, and the Center for Collaboration and Commercialization. The office is located in the Innovation Parkway Office Center (IPOC) in the Sandia Science & Technology Park.

Security Clearance:

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
