Alliance Technical Group is the largest exclusive air emissions stack testing services company in the United States. Alliance Emissions Monitoring (AEM) is our Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) division. Alliance Technical Group is filling a Monitoring Technician / MOC position that will require travel. This position is a contract role until September 2025 and will be in the Benicia, CA area. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company while developing your own career. This position is looking to start between $20.00 to $24.00 per hour depending on experience. Essential Functions
- Performs Method 21, cooling tower monitoring, canister inspections, and other testing at job sites
- Calibrates and uses an analyzer daily per local, State and Federal guidelines
- Uses an analyzer to detect emissions from various process equipment such as drains, unburied sewer lines, valves, pumps, compressors, flanges, piping connections, etc.
- Visually inspects process equipment such as drains, unburied sewer lines, valves, pumps, compressors, flanges, piping connections, etc. for visible vapors or liquid leakage
- Performs safety inspections, equipment audits, etc.; regularly monitors the working integrity of various tools, such as company vehicles, calibration gases, 4-gas monitor, harness, personal protective equipment, etc.
- Reviews Pipe and Industry Diagrams (P&IDs) for changes or possible required corrections and updates
- Completes reports using a client or company owned computer or device
- Completes permits/paperwork, makes copies of various forms; delivers correspondence to clients and/or coworkers as appropriate; maintains all regulatory compliance paperwork for audits
- Mobilizes and loads up equipment for specific job assignments for the week; performs in-shop maintenance activities; maintains cleanliness of company property, including office, vehicle, and other work areas
- Collects and delivers samples to off-site labs
- Maintains inventory of hazardous materials stored at job sites
- Attends safety training and incorporates safety into all job performance areas; completes onsite and internal training prior to entering and beginning work at sites, as applicable
- Demobilizes and cleans equipment used on projects daily
- Performs other administrative duties, such as submitting receipts and updating leak logs
- Submits time daily as required by Alliance TG and clients
- Aids other technicians and clients as needed
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by project leads / supervision
Supervisor Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities; may provide guidance to other employees/individuals Required Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIREMENT - High School Diploma or GED
- Must pass M21 Testing Requirements and remain current in M21 annual testing and safety training
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Mechanical and hand tool knowledge; basic electrical/mechanical skills
- Ability to travel extensively, including on the weekends
- Must be knowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulations
- Must gain understanding of client facilities and procedures
- Must be proficient at read Piping and Industrial Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Ability to work in physically demanding field conditions; physical endurance
- Must have a professional attitude and ability to learn
- Must have a Safety-first attitude
- Must have the ability to perform effectively work at heights; ability to operate aerial lifts and other equipment
- Awareness of personal and industrial safety requirements, particularly in relation to signs of heat stress and exhaustion and emergency first aid
- Must have a Valid State driver's license; must be able to meet a Motor Vehicle Review in accordance with Company policy
- Ability to communicate with associates and clients
- Ability to read, count, write and accurately complete all documentation
