Location Designation:Hybrid - 3 days per week As a Salesforce Developer Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, configuring, customizing, and deploying various application features on the Salesforce platform to meet complex business requirements for Insurance Agent Recruiting. You'll collaborate with cross-tech teams and business teams to drive the successful delivery of business solutions on the Salesforce platform. This role demands strong technical expertise, programming, and problem-solving skills. What You'll Do:
- Configure and develop New York Life's critical agent recruiting application on the Salesforce platform.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, understand, and translate business requirements into Salesforce applications.
- Develop integrations between the Salesforce platform and all the necessary data, solutions, and services using modern integration technologies such as REST, Platform events, Apex Callouts, and more.
- Work with architects and business stakeholders to translate architectural designs into technology solutions.
- Ensure applications and components are optimized for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- Design and implement workflows, UI/UX components, and integrations using Salesforce tools.
- Ensure mobile readiness/responsiveness in all Salesforce releases and treat this as a standard.
- Perform rigorous unit testing and debugging to deliver robust and defect-free solutions.
- Develop into an internal NYL SME for the Agent recruiting applications in your value stream.
- Develop internal Salesforce development competency in NYL through training and coaching junior resources.
- Work closely with the agile scrum team and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
- Stay current with Salesforce platform updates and industry trends to drive innovation in solution design.
- Partner with the Scrum Master and Product Owner to refine and analyze the backlog and drive the technical delivery of features and user stories into working software (and specifications).
- Stay current with the latest technology including but not limited to Salesforce, database, and AI technologies.
- Assist with planning and strategy for future PI increments and agent recruiting applications.
Additional Key Responsibilities
- Proven experience in developing on a large-scale Salesforce platform while obtaining platform guidance from a center for enablement
- Actively participate in daily standup calls, sprint planning and Production Increment (PI) planning sessions.
- Actively collaborate with and align to information, data, security and infrastructure strategies.
- Partners with Business stakeholders and to review and understand business requirements.
- Conducts complete assessments of complex business problems, including those involving multiple systems, customers, platforms, and technologies.
- Proposes technology solutions within areas of the team's development.
- Stays current on NYL architectural standards.
- Identifies and suggests technical and architectural improvements in current systems.
- Supports the project through the entire software development lifecycle from initial kickoff to production deployment.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
- 4+ years' experience as a Salesforce Engineer; 8+ years professional experience as a software engineer, programmer, or similar role.
- Full Stack development experience a big plus.
- Experience Cloud / Communities development experience a must.
- Salesforce integrations and AppExchange products experience.
- Einstein experience a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Can work independently to solve complex technical issues, unit test, and debug.
- Hunger for continuous learning of new technologies, methodologies, and ways to solve problems.
- Strong data, database and SQL skills, including query optimization, performance tuning, and report development.
- Experience with document / NoSQL databases a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
