Position Title: InternDepartment: Office of the Chief Legal OfficerCorporate Area: Office of the Chief Legal OfficerStatus: Temporary, Full time NonExemptManager Title: CounselPosition Overview: PBS is a non-profit media organization that distributes high quality educational, arts, and cultural programming to more than 350 public television member stations nationwide. The Office of the Chief Legal Officer (OCLO) offers law students a rich in-house experience in a variety of legal fields, including non-profit, entertainment, media, communications, intellectual property, regulatory, technology, digital distribution, data privacy, public interest, and all aspects of corporate legal matters.Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: PBS legal externs work closely with our in-house attorneys on current and pressing legal matters. The intern will interact with corporate clients, research and report on various state and federal laws and regulations related to non-profit media entities, and review and draft a variety of documents including commercial agreements, corporate policies, program licenses, software licenses, content acquisition agreements, and intellectual property licenses. Skills Intern Will Acquire *Gain exposure to OCLO's diverse in-house legal practice. Requirements for success: * Excellent legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
