Position Overview:

The PBS Programming & Operations team supports strategic business and operational activities for key projects to maximize the effectiveness of PBS General Audience Programming's priorities. They support the development of the General Audience programming slate in alignment with our overall multi-platform programming mission to provide content of exceptional quality to our member stations and the viewing audience. The Programming & Operations Intern will assist with departmental operations for America's 250th Anniversary, help with operational tools and workflows for tracking programs from inception through pre-production, and follow along the creative process for multiplatform programming. This would include collaborating on tool and data management, conducting research, and supporting operational and editorial strategies.

Key Responsibilities (will include, but are not limited to):

  • Collaborate on management of pitch submissions, including reviewing pitches, logging notes, and moving projects through the databases

  • Conduct research related to local PBS member station programming and tracking

  • Assist in the building and implementation of key programming workflow tools

  • Contribute resources related to programming for the PBS owned platforms

  • Provide additional support to members of the GA Programming team where appropriate

Skills Intern Will Acquire

Requirements For Success:

  • Interest in show editorial from broadcaster perspective

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Experience conducting research

  • Adept interpersonal abilities

Additional Information:

Time Commitment: May 27, 2025 - August 15, 2025

Compensation: Undergraduate students receive $15/hour, graduate students receive $17/hour
