Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Process Owner will work with Accounts Payable Manager to define and prioritize projects, process improvements and reporting needs. The Accounts Payable Process Owner will be accountable for ensuring the delivery of production-ready software solutions, processes, and data analysis. The Accounts Payable Process Owner will be responsible for working with Accounts Payable/Finance Leadership/impacted stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, prioritize development, and coordinate related user testing. The Accounts Payable Process Owner will act as a change agent, working with Accounts Payable leadership along with impacted stakeholders to gain consensus and project buy-in. The role will also work with project members to develop training (written and video) and job aids to support existing and ongoing training.
Essential Duties
Act as the primary subject matter expert (SME) for Accounts Payable processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy across all aspects of the function.
- Partner with key stakeholders across departments to gather feedback, assess needs, and gain consensus on process improvements and system changes.
- Oversee the development and implementation of process improvements, working with software vendors and IT teams to deliver scalable and effective solutions.
- Provide regular data analysis and reporting to track KPIs, identify trends, and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
- Design and develop training materials, including written documentation, video tutorials, and job aids, to support the onboarding and continuous development of the Accounts Payable team.
- Drive change within the Accounts Payable department, working closely with leadership and impacted teams to secure project buy-in, manage resistance, and ensure smooth transitions.
- Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, communications, operations management, related field or equivalent experience required.
- 7+ years experience solving complex business challenges and process changes at the enterprise level.
- 5+ years experience working in a defined domain area. (Eg. Construction, Field Service, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.)
- Understands and articulates project strategy and desired results.
- Ability to work as bridge between technology and users.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
- Ability to drive change and gain consensus.
- Ability to adapt and persevere. Able to convince and influence when differing view points are presented.
- Strong listening and interpretation skills. Able to convey understanding of responses and provide interpretation/understanding of issues and challenges.
- Must be a team player, able to work collaboratively with multiple teams.
- Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, capable of coordinating multiple viewpoints into a single message.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities. Understanding when to include leadership in priority decisions.
- Strong presentation, facilitation, communication, delegation, and negotiation skills.
