Position Overview

The Corporate Affairs Media Relations Leader at Golin will drive strategic communications initiatives and media relations programs within Golin's Corporate Affairs practice for Fortune 500 clients across multiple industries. This role combines deep media expertise, strategic thinking, and team leadership to deliver impactful corporate reputation campaigns that drive business results.

Key Responsibilities



  • Develop and execute comprehensive media relations strategies aligned with clients' business objectives and corporate narratives
  • Lead high-stakes media relations programs including corporate announcements, issues management, and executive visibility campaigns
  • Provide senior counsel to C-suite executives on media strategy, reputation management, and strategic positioning
  • Drive innovation in storytelling approaches and media engagement tactics across traditional and digital channels



Media Relations Excellence



  • Have a deep knowledge and understanding of a broad base of industries and business trends to effectively strategize and manage outreach
  • Maintain and leverage strong relationships with top-tier business reporters, producers, contributors, podcasters and influencers as well as trade media contacts across broadcast, print, and digital outlets with a focus on B2B, Tech and Finance
  • Identify and create compelling news angles and storytelling opportunities that advance clients' business and reputation goals
  • Coach C-suite executives for media interviews and speaking opportunities
  • Oversee the development of strategic media materials including messaging frameworks, press releases, and briefing document



Team Leadership & Client Service



  • Manage and mentor a team of 10-15 media relations professionals, fostering their growth and development and ensuring the full team has the breadth and depth of relationships across the corporate, B2B, finance and tech media space
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across the senior executive level
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including creative, digital, and analytics to deliver integrated communications programs
  • Ensure exceptional client service delivery and program results



New Business and Practice Development



  • Support account teams and senior leaders on new business development and pitches
  • Support US and global practice leadership on media relations strategy for the team and overall practice development goals and ambitions



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of corporate communications and media relations experience, with significant time at a global PR agency
  • Proven track record leading corporate reputation and media relations programs for major companies, brands
  • Strong network of media relationships across top-tier business and trade outlets
  • History of successful team leadership and talent development

Salary range: $150,000 - $265,000

Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.
