Sr Technical Product Manager, Defense Deployment Solutions

The Mobile Networks Space and Defense organization needs an experienced Senior Technical Product Manager to lead customer analysis and engagements related to design and installation of our Defense Communications products in Military vehicles and other types of deployments. Our portfolio of Banshee products are designed for mobile/tactical use-cases, and we need to design and develop Deployment Solutions to enable installation into a wide variety of vehicles and other Defense assets.

This person will do market research and analysis to determine the similarities and differences in various vehicle deployments, and prioritize solution design on the most common and/or most challenging elements.

Also this person will interact with customers directly to communicate Nokia capabilities, capture vehicle requirements, align with product capabilities and constraints, propose specific designs, and plan & lead prototyping programs as needed.

• Understand Defense market segmentation, and particularly the needs of the "Mobile/Tactical" segment. Research target market and characterize by vehicle/installation type, in order to maximize leverage of further investment toward the largest market segments.
• Work with other Product Managers responsible for Defense Tactical products, and HW Engineering, to develop solutions and installation kits to support vehicle installations.
• Provide feedback to Product Engineering on features and capabilities to maximize flexibility for the various types of installations.
• Lead prototyping and demonstration programs as required by large opportunities, including ownership of customer-facing planning and execution.
• Maximize leverage of existing Nokia portfolio for installation solutions and ancillaries where possible, drive expansion of the Nokia portfolio as needed for Defense-specific requirements (e.g. ruggedization, Mil-spec connectors, etc.).

• Minimum 10 years of experience, mostly in Product Management, Solution Architecture, and/or customer-facing roles.
• Experience with Defense vehicle technology and installations required.
• Military service in a Communications function is preferred.
• Excellent understanding of Mechanical Design parameters and constraints for vehicle installations required.
• Understanding of 3GPP RF and Radio technologies, such as beam patterns, link budgets, range control, etc. is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and networking capabilities & skills required.
