Job Title:Senior Model Risk Analyst Job Description:

Summary

The Senior Model Risk Analyst position at the Enterprise Bank & Trust is responsible for helping ensure compliance with the Bank's Model Risk Management policies and procedures as well as required regulatory requirements to help mitigate and monitor risk associated with the use of models at the Bank. This includes model risk management program development, independent model validations, and risk governance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Independently perform model validation spanning multiple model domains to assess fit for purpose, conceptual soundness, mathematical theory, data/assumptions, ongoing monitoring, and output reasonableness.

  • Evaluate compensating controls and validation finding remediation activities to ensure adequate risk mitigations are implemented in a timely manner.

  • Maintain and update the Bank's model and tool inventory, and engage with the Lines of Business to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Coordinate with model developers and BU/model owners to review and analyze model risk assessments.

  • Review model ongoing monitoring results and provide conclusions on the effectiveness and accuracy of the model.

  • Review other model controls such as issue management, model performance tracking, change controls, and model documentation.

  • Document all work products in a thorough and concise manner with minimal review edits needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Basic computer programming skills (R, Python, SQL, etc.).

  • Familiar with model risk management regulatory guidance (SR 11-7).

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Self-motivated and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Self-starter and the ability to work and learn independently

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • None

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or other quantitative fields.

  • 2+ years of experience in model validation, model development, or similar risk analytics areas.

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in finance, economics, mathematics, or statistics preferred.

  • 2 or more years' experience of model risk management in middle-size banks preferred

  • Advanced knowledge in statistical analysis and use of statistical modeling software (R, SAS, or similar statistical package) preferred

  • A strong grasp of one or more financial modeling disciplines such as credit score modeling, asset-liability management, stress testing, fraud detection, capital planning models, loan loss reserve (CECL) modeling, etc.

Computer and Software Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Proficient in SQL or related database tools

  • Proficient in statistical analysis and use of statistical modeling software (R, SAS, Python or similar statistical package

  • Familiarity with Verafin, ALM software, Abrigo, and FactSet is preferred.
