JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn StateIT- Auxiliaryand Business Services unit is seekinga dedicated Vendor IT Solutions Specialistto provide technical support and expertise across various university business units, including the Multimedia and Print Center, Bryce Jordan Center, General Stores, Lion Surplus, Transportation, Parking, Housing and Food Services, and the ID Office. This role involves managing and troubleshooting a wide range of critical systems, including POS systems, digital signage, door access, inventory management systems, in-house applications like eLiving, university ID credentialing, and many other technologies that support the university's operations and objectives.

This position has a hybrid work modality option with a mix of in-person and remote work. The primary location for the role is State College PA, at the University Park campus and will require regular weekly work on campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to install, configure, and integrate hardware/software systems.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to system users, ensuring systems are properly documented and functional.

  • Manage vendor relationships, including contract coordination and ongoing support.

  • Monitor system performance, security, and compliance, ensuring optimal operation.

  • Implement system updates, patches, and troubleshooting solutions.

  • Analyze departmental business processes and recommend technology solutions to streamline operations.

  • Stay current with IT trends and recommend system improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimally requires a Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proven experience with IT systems, vendor management, and system administration.

  • Knowledge of PCI compliance and information security practices.

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$61,800.00 - $89,600.00
