The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) seeks to hire a Technical Compliance Coordinator for its Sports Wagering Division. Under the direction of the Sports Wagering Division Chief, this position serves as a crucial link between the Sports Wagering (SW) Division, IT, the Gaming Technical Compliance (GTC) unit, and external stakeholders. This role is essential to ensure the technical compliance, audit readiness, and regulatory adherence of MGC's sports wagering operations. The Sports Wagering Technical Compliance Coordinator will manage the technical needs within the division, serving as the primary point of contact for both internal and external technical partners.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Coordination: * Act as the central coordinator between the Sports Wagering Division, IT division, GTC team, and external tech contractors and vendors, such as GLI (Gaming Laboratories International) and BMM. Technical Compliance Management: * Oversee and maintain compliance with GLI-33 and other relevant technical regulations. * Coordinate teams and specialists to perform all required technical audits and testing. * Facilitate weekly meetings with the GTC unit to ensure ongoing compliance, effective change management, and knowledge-sharing. * Oversee review of sports wagering operator internal controls for compliance with regulations. Platform Setup and Management: * Coordinate with GTC in setting up backend reporting portals for operators and providing access for necessary MGC departments such as Finance and IT. * Review backend reporting in conjunction with Sports Wagering Compliance Officers and Sports Wagering Compliance and Operators Managers * Regularly review and update portal access guides and maintain user and information manuals. Technical Tools Oversight: * Act as the "in-house expert" for monitoring and compliance platforms such as GeoComply, US Integrity, and GLI Access Point. * Support team members in retrieving essential information, generating reports, and providing industry insights as required for compliance and data monitoring. Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications: * Familiarity with technical regulations and standards like GLI-33. * Strong coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders effectively. Experience, Education and Training: * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as IT, Compliance, or a similar technical discipline. * Minimum of 3 years' experience in a technical compliance role, ideally within a regulated industry. Salary is commensurate with experience. The successful candidate must pass an extensive background check conducted by the Massachusetts State Police. It includes a full credit check, CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information), fingerprinting, drug test, reference checks, review of IRS Income Tax Transcripts for the last four years, and a Certificate of Good Standing from the Massachusetts Dept. of Revenue (DOR). The Massachusetts Gaming Commission is responsible for the implementation of the expanded gaming law (Chapter 194 of the Acts of 2011) and regulatory oversight of G.L. chapter 23K (casino gaming), chapter 23N (sports wagering), and chapter 128A (horse racing). Under these laws, the Commission is tasked with establishing a regulatory framework for the solicitation, licensing, taxation, and oversight of a maximum of three casino licenses and one slots parlor only license, the provision of in-person and digital sports wagering, and the live and simulcasting of horse racing in Massachusetts.
