POSITION OVERVIEW The Utilities Maintenance Lead, reporting to the Plant Technical Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the Plant Utilities, Facilities Grounds, and all associated infrastructure. The systems include (not limited to): Ammonia Refrigeration, Steam, Water Treatment, Compressed Air, Fire System, etc. This person will also manage the overall Building infrastructure (Walls, Floors, Doors, Drains, etc.). The Utilities Maintenance Lead will work to drive out top losses on a 24-hour cycle. The position uses continuous improvement tools, leadership skills, and is responsible for fostering a team environment. The Utilities Maintenance Lead is responsible for eliminating maintenance and breakdown related losses, building capability in Utilities Teams and Equipment Owners to deliver overall line results supporting the CBN. Our Geneva, IL Plant is our newest addition to our North America plant network. To increase capacity and keep pace with the growing consumer demand for the products, General Mills made a significant investment to expand capacity for our beloved Fruit brands (Gushers and Fruit by the Foot). After the complete startup of Fruit, the plant will have 400+ employees and support both with MBS and Snacks Operating units with just under 500,000 sq ft of production and warehouse space. - Responsibility for the efficient and cost-effective management of utilities for the site
- Complete Required Applicable Certifications: CARO/CIRO, Steam Operator, Fire Monitoring, Water Treatment
- Capital project development and execution with compliance with GMI capital policies, programs, and standards
- Documentation oversight for environmental and insurance requirements, ensuring the quality and completeness of all required drawings and record keeping for the site, including participation and compliance to PSM/ARM program
- Drive breakdown reduction - including BE roll out, tracking, assigning, and executing
- Communicate across all departments concerning issues/outages to the Plant
- Budget planning and accountability for the plant facilities maintenance expense budget
- Direct reporting accountability for the facilities maintenance team
- Responsible for Planning and Scheduling Maintenance work on assigned area
- Identify recurring issues-- recommend and execute solutions. Maintain failure history and cost. Manage daily scheduling and resource allocation/prioritization
- Ensure PMs and WOs are executed safely and with appropriate quality
- Understand spending history and future spend prediction to assist in the budget creation
- Lead team in development and communication of Planned Maintenance job plans
- Maintain maintenance technical library including manuals, drawings and electronic documents
- Ensure capitalization of appropriate maintenance work and incorporate in facility forecast
- Coordinate downtime schedule across all departments
- Coordinate with production to accomplish planned maintenance during mid-run windows
- Manage audit follow ups like sanitation, safety, insurance, etc
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-3 years of related experience
- Customer Service Skills: Removing barriers, training, coaching and problem solving
- Strong understanding of industrial, mechanical and electrical technologies
- Understanding of maintenance and reliability performance metrics
- Strong planning, organization and communication skills
- Working knowledge of MQIS, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience with CMMS System, proven aptitude with Planning, Scheduling and assigning work orders
- Ability to motivate and encourage positive team dynamic through solid leadership
- Demonstrated engineering skills and experience working with the generation, distribution, and application of the following Mechanical Utilities:
- Utility and process water distribution
- Wastewater handling and treatment
- Ammonia Refrigeration
- Electronic and paper schematic reading and markup
- State and Federal EPA permitting and compliance and/or accountability for PSM/ARM program compliance
- Project management including construction management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Boilers and low-pressure Steam (up to 150 psi)
- Single stage basic Refrigeration (CARO/CIRO) (Ammonia, HFC's, other refrigerants)
- Incident command and/or HAZWOPPER program experience
- Other Mechanical Utilities systems (Compressed Air, Vacuum, Hydraulics)

- International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $68700.00 - $103200.00 / Annually.
