****This position is for 2nd shift and/or weekend Prepress Technicians.****
Job Summary
Functions as coordinator to handle all work involved in preparing files for print, including layout, design, color correction and troubleshooting production issues as they arise.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the accuracy of layouts, templates and print files to ensure optimal quality.
- Adjust, create and color correction to clients files so they accurately print to our print devices.
- Communicates with the customers and the sales staff to understand the prepress needs of the customer.
- Provides a format for quality control that is technically superior to that of our competitors.
- Interfaces with CAD Department and Account Management team to provide preflight solutions that focus on both cost and production.
- Works with files from design and CAD in order to ensure that jobs are accurately produced to represent how they would be in manufacturing.
- May communicate with customers on technical issues on their behalf.
- Provides an effective interface between production, account management team and sales, to provide clients with accurate proofs
- Increase of creative knowledge - learning new technologies
- Other duties as assigned
Critical Skills and Experience
- BS or BA degree in Graphic Design or related field preferred, or Technical/Trade School education with the equivalent in work experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two or more years' experience in prepress with emphasis in computer design, and design project coordination.
- Must be experienced in four color process prepress output.
- Must understand digital printing and the generation of digital-printing artwork.
- Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud suite applications.
- Must be able to provide prepress specifications for the construction of production parts.
- Must be able to supervise the set-up of digitally printed jobs. Act as an advisor to digitally printed jobs.
- Must be a good communicator and able to interface with customers and other departments at multiple levels.
- Must be a good listener and willing to provide what the customer and the company needs are with solutions to problems.
