Summary of Job Duties:The HR Manager, Recruiting and Employee services manages the daily functions of new employee recruitment and onboarding. The position is responsible for ensuring jobs are posted, search committees are formed and trained, candidates are interviewed, and new employees are onboarded at the university. The position reports to the Associate Director of Human Resources. Qualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience: Minimum qualifications: The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field; plus 3 years of related experience. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.

Preferred Education and/or Work Experience: Experience with Workday or other HCM platform. Experience managing the work of employees.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:

  • Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of human resources.
  • Knowledge of state and federal personnel laws, policies, and procedures as they relate to personnel management.
  • Problem solving - Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; and to gather and analyze information skillfully.
  • Interpersonal skills - Ability to maintain confidential information with absolute discretion in all matters. Ability to remain open to ideas and try new things.

Summary of Job Duties:

  • Monitors and manages matters related to onboarding of new employees and events related to employee experience to include pre-onboarding requirements, Workday tasks, orientation, and various employee events.
  • Monitors and manages all matters related to recruiting, covering the entire search and hiring process, promoting a positive experience for applicants and members of the search process:
    • Manages position requisitions.
    • Prepares or assists in preparing job announcements and advertisements.
    • Prepares and analyzes screening documents.
    • Works with hiring manager and screening committees through the process as needed to include training.
    • Processes hiring proposals and background checks.
  • Maintains accurate records and prepares reports, audits, research, etc. for recruiting processes.
  • Develops and conducts special training for employees and supervisors related to recruitment activities, use of Workday, search and hiring guidelines, interviews, etc.
  • Manages the work of the Recruiting Specialist and Employee Services Specialist.
  • Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates.
  • Requires consistent on-time attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Information:

Working Relationships: Has frequent contact with employees, personnel from other state agencies and institutions, and infrequent contact with the general public.

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an office setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. The employee frequently sits for extended periods of time and occasionally stands and walks. Vision demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employee regularly talks and hears. Employee occasionally lifts items up to 50 pounds. Routine work schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with occasional overtime.

Salary Information:

$50,000-52,000/year
