What You Will Do:
As a Project Manager, you play a crucial part of the construction project team. Primary daily responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the planning and execution of K-12 school construction projects, ensuring alignment with district guidelines, funding requirements, and educational facility standards.
- Oversee occupied and unoccupied school site construction, coordinating logistics to minimize disruptions to students, staff, and daily operations.
- Collaborate with school district representatives, architects, and subcontractors to ensure that designs and construction plans meet educational facility needs, safety regulations, and sustainability goals.
- Understand and manage bond-funded school projects, including compliance with public sector procurement processes and reporting requirements.
- Determine and define the scope of work and deliverables while ensuring compliance with state and local building codes specific to educational environments.
- Manage owner communications related to project risks, schedules, budgets, and logistics.
- Establish subcontract agreements and work scopes for all trade contractors, communicating expectations related to school safety, after-hours work coordination, and site security protocols.
- Drive safety awareness at all times, ensuring adherence to strict safety requirements on active school campuses.
- Participate in project pursuit interviews and business development efforts related to K-12 school construction opportunities.
What You Will Bring to the Team:
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum five (5) years of commercial construction experience in a leadership role, with at least two (2) years managing K-12 school construction projects.
- Experience with bond-funded school projects, public sector procurement, and reporting requirements.
- Strong knowledge of occupied school renovation logistics, including phased construction planning and safety measures for active educational environments.
- OR Equivalent combination of the above education, training, and experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- OSHA 30-Hour certification, First-Aid/CPR
- Have the ability to interact with and develop effective working relationships with a wide range of people, including internal and external customers, in different situations.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Able to plan, schedule, and organize tasks while completing work within established deadlines.
- Ability to follow instructions, respond to management direction, take responsibility for own actions, and keep commitments.
- Must have excellent written and oral skills.
- Basic computer knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
- Knowledge with Procore and e-Builder software.
- Have a passion for team-based planning and problem-solving.
- Have a wholehearted commitment to building strong partnerships to support project goals.
