FSU/Lee Health is seeking a Family Medicine Faculty Physician tosupport the FSU College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency Program!!

Lee Health is a nonprofit organization with more than 17,000 employees, 4,500 volunteers, and more than 1,200 employed primary care and specialty providers with multiple practice locations throughout Southwest Florida. The organization has four acute care hospitals and one specialty hospital that together house over 1,800 hospital beds.

Lee Health, in partnership with Florida State University (FSU), invites passionate, board-certified Family Physicians to join our expanding Graduate Medical Education (GME) Academic Enterprise in beautiful Southwest Florida. We are currently seeking core faculty for two distinct residency programs within our system. Whether you are an innovator eager to build a program from the ground up or a passionate educator looking to join a well-established team, we have a place for you.

The Opportunities:

We are recruiting for two separate Family Medicine programs here in Fort Myers:

FSU Family Medicine Residency at Gulf Coast Medical Center (GCMC)
  • The Vision: A brand-new 12:12:12 program scheduled to welcome its inaugural class in July 2028.
  • The Role:A "ground-floor" opportunity to shape the vision, design an innovative curriculum, and mentor the very first class of residents.
  • The Environment:Located at GCMC, a 699-bed regional referral center and Level II Trauma Center featuring a newly expanded facility with state-of-the-art technology.
  • Flexibility:We offer dedicated roles for physicians who prefer a core facultyhospitalistposition,outpatient faculty, or atraditional blend. Faculty with specific areas of interest such as sports medicine, recovery medicine, geriatrics, and obstetrics/womens health are encouraged to apply.

FSU Family Medicine Residency at Lee Memorial Hospital (LMH)
  • The Vision: An established 11:11:11 program that has been a cornerstone of the community since 2014.
  • The Role: Join a seasoned team of educators with great opportunities to develop your skills as a faculty member in a stable, supportive academic environment.
  • The Clinical Work: Faculty engage in a traditional academic model, rotating coverage on the inpatient medicine service and precepting in the residency clinic. Faculty with specific areas of interest such as OMT, sports medicine, recovery medicine, geriatrics, informatics and obstetrics/womens health are encouraged to apply.
  • The Environment: Lee Memorial Hospital (LMH) serves as a safety net hospital, located in the medical district of downtown Fort Myers. Join a robust program with a proven track record of graduating high-quality family physicians for the Southwest Florida region.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Certification: Graduate of an accredited Residency Program in Family Medicine as well as respective Board Certification (or Board Eligibility as appropriate)
  • Licensure: Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Florida and clear DEA (or ability to obtain prior to start);Must comply with all ACGME core faculty requirements
