Operations Coordinator II - Hamden, NY

This position will serve as the Operations Coordinator II for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Delaware County and will provide day-to-day coordination and support for all programs. Responsibilities. Are diversified, including, but not limited to primary receptionist - receiving and greeting customers/ clientele, answering the telephone, directing calls, providing basic information on programs and events and general email correspondence.

They will assist program educators with organizing and coordinating activities and events relating to the program area; coordinating all aspects of enrollment and reporting. This position is responsible for assisting in writing, design/layout of program flyers, newsletters, press releases, social media, etc. They will assist in arranging, organizing, and supporting meetings and functions as assigned by the program Team Leader.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or Equivalent Education (High School Diploma/GED and 1 year of transferrable functional experience).
  • Experience relevant to the role of the position.
  • Ability to demonstrate positive customer service skills, good communication skills, and work well in a busy program setting.
  • Ability to plan and organize work responsibilities according to priorities developed with immediate Team leaders.
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality to client and volunteer matters.
  • Ability to work as a team member and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to transport/move supplies and equipment.
  • Proficient in computer operations of the Windows operating system, one or more major double-entry accounting software programs, and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel.
  • Experience with social media: e.g.: Facebook. Twitter, Instagram, etc.
  • Ability to work cooperatively, establish and maintain effective working relationships with members of the Association in order to accomplish planned Association objectives.
  • Ability and willingness to work with a high degree of integrity, accuracy, organization and sound professional judgment to effectively relate to people in order to accomplish Association's goals.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and assume responsibility with general guidelines and direction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written and visual channels using traditional methods and tools, as well as electronic technology (e.g., Zoom)
  • Ability and willingness to work with diverse audiences and maintain cultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to relate effectively to co-workers, advisors, community and professional leaders.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.
  • Ability to meet acceptable background check standards.
  • Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Cooperative Extension experience.
  • Proficient in data management and a variety of computer software applications.
  • Current/Active Notary Public License or willingness to obtain Notary Public License.
