Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Fiscal Specialist Senior. This position serves as a supervisor for Student Business Services; performs a variety of complex support assignments, which includes monitoring the integrity and accuracy of financial transactions; enforcing policies and procedures; researches and resolves complex inquiries; develops and trains staff on ongoing policy and procedure updates.

Essential Functions

30% - Coordinates Cashiers/Fiscal student receivables, payments, collections, tuition calculations, monthly billing, third-party contracts, and payment plans; trains and provides work direction for staff.

30% - Coordinates with various college divisions primarily Admissions, Records and Registration, Early College, and Financial Aid; provides guidance regarding routine and non-routine student financial matters; researches and resolves student account issues and provides customer service.

20% - Develops, monitors, and evaluates credit tuition; maintains Excel spreadsheets related to student receivables, records, disbursement of funds, third-party and payment plans.

10% - Maintains fiscal integrity of college petty cash funds, expense advances, and reimbursements; develops and evaluates systems of internal control for the prevention and detection of fraud and irregularities to include security procedures.

10% - Develops and maintains business processes and procedures for cash handling, cash management, and billing procedures. Performs other assigned duties that are commensurate to the grade level of the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of full-time equivalent fiscal support experience related to area of assignment.

OR

High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of full-time equivalent fiscal support experience related to area of assignment.

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

A. Bachelor's degree

B. Two (2) years of experience in supervisory position

C. Two (2) years working in student information systems (SIS), preferably PeopleSoft

D. One (1) year experience in online/enterprise financial systems (FMS)

E. Experience in higher educational setting in a fiscal or financial aid position

F. Experience developing operational manuals or policy and procedures

Special Working Conditions

May be required to view a computer monitor for an extended period of time and work evenings & weekends.
