Position Highlights

The purpose of this position is to study the physics and correlated electron-nuclear dynamics in molecular systems under action of external electromagnetic fields. The incumbent will test the recently developed software package, benchmark the implemented algorithms, and perform computational simulations of several systems of practical interest for the community. The incumbent will work within the research group led by Nikolay Golubev in the UA Physics department within the College of Science.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Based on direction provided by their supervisor, assist in developing approaches capable of simulating electronic
    and electron-nuclear dynamics in molecular systems.
  • Under guidance from their supervisor, assist in implementation of high-performance computer codes of the developed approaches.
  • In weekly group meetings, discuss progress of the project.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Linux OS and the ability to perform high-performance computing.
  • Knowledge of the theory and simulation methods of electron-nuclear dynamics in molecular systems.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or high school diploma equivalency is required and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in programming in Fortran/C/C++ languages will be a strong plus.
