TRISTAR is seeking a Fleet & Engineering Support for our government customer. This is position is 100% Remote.
- We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer to conduct engineering investigations and provide technical expertise in the evaluation, maintenance, and deployment of mission-critical systems
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing equipment operational reliability, maintainability, availability, logistics support, and configuration status in accordance with applicable drawing specifications
- Additionally, this role will involve on-site software installation, system maintenance, and technical support for advanced battle management and command and control (C2) systems
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering investigations to evaluate operational reliability, maintainability, and configuration status of equipment
- Conduct on-site software installation, including engineering and integration with a common software baseline
- Perform system maintenance tasks, including data backup, recovery, and file maintenance
- Install and test system software upgrades, configure software, and resolve technical issues
- Manage and support VMware infrastructure, including virtual machine creation, cloning, and deployment
- Troubleshoot system software and provide technical support at various operational sites
- Provide guidance on the effective use of battle management assets
- Offer functional expertise in activating, employing, deploying, and deactivating battle management systems
- Support the planning, employment, and installation of new C2 capabilities in aviation command and control systems
- Conduct system installation, software maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless field operations
Requirements
- Proven experience in system engineering, software installation, and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of VMware infrastructure, including virtual machine deployment and management
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical software and hardware issues
- Experience with C2 and battle management systems is highly preferred
- Ability to travel as needed to support system installations and maintenance at various locations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Must be able to travel 40%-50%
- Must be a US Citizen
- An Active Secret Clearance is required or the ability to obtain one
Education and Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Must have or be able to obtain a CompTIA Security Plus certification prior to start date
