Job Title: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Maternal Fetal Medicine Location: Southfield, MI Department: Maternal Fetal Medicine Inpatient/Outpatient: Outpatient. Case Load: 100% Adult Position Overview: Henry Ford Providence Maternal Fetal Medicine is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team. This position offers a great work-life balance with no weekends, outpatient only, and no on-call responsibilities. Ideal candidates should have experience in diabetic education and diabetes management, although diabetes management experience is preferred. We are also open to new graduates who have a strong interest in Maternal Fetal Medicine. Key responsibilities include managing high-risk pregnancies, providing prenatal and postnatal care, and collaborating with our team of Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists. There will be no operating room time, and the position is focused solely on outpatient care. This role will require traveling to other locations within the network, including MFM Southfield, Novi, and St. John Moross. Monday - Thursday, 830a-430p. Weekend requirement - No. Call requirement - No. OR Time - No. In collaboration with a physician, provides for the expansion of individualized primary healthcare services by diagnosing and treating certain acute or chronic health conditions. Responsibilities: Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.| Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.| Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.| Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy. Licensure / Certification / Registration: Certification as a Nurse Practitioner. Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred. Education: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required. Master's degree preferred. Work Experience: 1-2 years of recent and relevant work experience as a Certified Nurse Practitioner with 1st Assistant in the OR in Neurosurgery or Orthopedic Spine Surgery. Qualifications: * NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) * PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan * PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) * National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. o DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.
