Become an architect of change and help shape the future of Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Health System alongside a passionate team in Baltimore's vibrant hub. Summary The Communications Project Manager reports to the Director, Sightline Strategic Initiatives, and partners with the division team members to lead, develop, coordinate and monitor comprehensive communications strategies. The position will serve as a liaison and consultant in implementing communication objectives to educate and inform employees, faculty members, and the community, and to raise awareness and engagement among entity audiences in support of key organizational goals. Essential Job Functions: Serve as a thought leader in helping Sightline communicate complex technical and operational transformation ideas, how changes will impact work, and a vision for the future-state of administrative services and processes across Johns Hopkins Health System. Responsible for developing, maintaining and updating the Sightline Communications Plan in a manner that integrates with the project's segmented stakeholders, project timelines and phases, extent of change, and degree of impact. Integrate closely with the Office of Change Management's other teams to include but not limited to Program Management, Readiness and Engagement, and Training & Development. Oversee newsletter strategy for Sightline, including managing internal communications calendars, training teams to use newsletter templates, and writing or approving messaging. Set themes, tone, and messaging for Sightline throughout all phases of the project, to the Health System leadership messaging. Review and edit mission-critical communications centered around the Sightline project. Develop and deliver the Sightline web content and messaging working closely with the website designers, developers, and managers. Develop stories and lead content creation for Sightline to effectively put out project updates and information: newsletters, broad community broadcasts, segmented communications, project webpage, etc. Other job functions: Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive internal and external communications strategies and projects/campaigns. Serve as a trusted communications advisor to external and internal stakeholders, including executives, vice deans and faculty leadership, business unit leaders, staff members, and students. Engage with leadership, offering communications expertise, recommendations, and fresh ideas for how to meet and exceed expectations. Provide proactive and strategic internal and external communications planning and project management. Create, implement and monitor communications programs to support and reinforce strategic objectives to inform important initiatives, goals, events, etc. Provide innovative approaches to advance communication with internal audiences, including designing and implementing communications systems and process improvements Develop strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues across the organization to support and advance the implementation of internal and external communications strategies. Participate on cross-functional teams coordinating with the JHM Communications department, including the media, web, social media, video, and institutional and entity internal and external communications teams. Work collaboratively with the Johns Hopkins Marketing and Communications department on combined university and health system communications. Manage and oversee communications tools to reach audiences, including press release distribution and media monitoring tools, communication email inbox, Staffbase, JHM Link, SharePoint, e-newsletters, email, etc. Provide support for in-person and virtual events, including symposiums, lectures, and other activities. Supports leadership in developing guidelines, processes, and procedures. May serve as a media representative/escort as needed, or serve on committees for broader institutional projects. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, Marketing, Advertising, Health Administration or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Work Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience managing projects/programs in public relations, communications or related field required. Experience within a complex health care environment, in communications, public relations, marketing or advertising, preferred Other requirements: Works under frequent deadlines to adhere to project milestones Ability to respond to needs of a 24/7 system-level operation, including during off hours. Salary Range: Minimum $37.04 per hour - Maximum $61.16 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
