We Require

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Experience working in the public sector
  • Experience with OnBase, CGI Advantage and CGI InfoAdvantage
  • One year of professional-level accounting work experience
  • Experience with paperless document storage and retrieval software

Job Contributions

  • Responds to requests for information; review, investigate, and correct errors in documents and reports; provide technical information to Division staff as authorized
  • Reviews, approves, and posts documents and computer accounting entries, including general ledger, accounts payable, revenue, accounts receivable, and special fund accounting
  • Prepares and processes bank deposits and cash receipts
  • Reconciles transactions and financial activities according to policies; records changes; reviews financial and accounting records and corrects errors
  • Monitors accounting documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Federal, state, and county policies and practices; interprets requests and prepares journal entries
  • Assists and consults Division staff on accounting matters; identifies and research fund status and issues and recommends solutions
  • Approve expenditure requests and monitor compliance to budget plan; update and maintains the cost accounting computer system, and other sub-systems as needed
  • Collects financial and administrative information and compiles data for reports
  • Manage special projects as directed
  • Provide guidance to departmental staff including Accounting Specialists
  • Other Job Duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time
  • Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed
    to adverse environmental conditions
  • This position is eligible for hybrid flexibility after a brief training period
