Requirements

In this critical role, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe, reliable, and friendly transportation. As a key member of our transit team, you will be responsible for operating a bus on scheduled routes, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for all passengers.   • Driving the bus to transport passengers over specified routes to local or distant points according to time schedule.
  • Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
  • Complies with local traffic regulations, and reports delays or accidents.
  • Operate a bus safely and efficiently on assigned routes and schedules.
  • Inspect bus and check gas, oil and water before departure.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition.
  • Comply with all traffic regulations and company policies while driving.
  • Transport pupils between pickup points and school.
  • May drive diesel or electric powered transit bus to transport passengers over established city route.
  • Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations, following established protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of passenger numbers, mileage, and any incidents.
  • Report any mechanical issues or incidents to the appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Keep the bus interior clean and presentable for passengers.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class B commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
  • Interstate driving experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of driving experience.
  • Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
  • Ability to operate a GPS and other navigation tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
