About the Role:

The Senior Human Resources Generalist - Labor Relations - is responsible for developing and building strong relationships with their designated operational areas and employee groups, and will support Management/Supervisors primarily with Labor Relations, Employee relations, HR policies and procedures, performance management, in addition to some workforce planning and recruitment.

Main Responsibilities:

* Work with the unions on daily basis to discuss issues, attendance, working together to solve problems.

* Investigations and research on employee issues

* Preparation for union meetings, arbitrations, and analyzing the contract in each situation. Work with corporate labor relations and supply information needed.

* Meetings to coach employees, and administer discipline in partnership with the union administration.

* Tracking of grievances, responses and administering 2nd step grievance meetings, including researching grievance issues, and making informed decisions when responding to the union.

* Administration of hourly discipline tracking and conducting meetings with unions regarding discipline. These meetings take place on all shifts, availability to work other shifts and flexibility is a must.

* Availability to the Bloomington team, including managers and supervisors, during a 24/7 operation.

* Responsible for electronic tracking of all grievances, ensuring that all due dates are followed in each step of the grievance process. Additionally, analyzing the grievances to identify areas of focus.

* Assist with union negotiations for all contracts, active participation in preparation and attendance at all meetings

* Acts collaboratively and proactively, as well as coaches' managers/supervisors, to anticipate and resolve issues in advance, guides decision making process, prepares/helps prepare corrective actions, facilitates involuntary terminations and communications.

* Understands and applies applicable employment standards requirements/legislation for consistency, compliance and efficiency within the organization

* Provides employee relations support and coaching to associates in Human Resources practices such as attendance, investigations of complaints and misconduct.

* Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation.

Who we are looking for:

* Minimum 5 -7 years experience in Human Resources.

* 3 years experience working in a unionized environment requiring regular contract/CBA interpretation.

* Experience facilitating and supporting successful mediation/arbitration/grievance processes as listed in "Responsibilities" above.

* Experience with contract negotiations is mandatory
