Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Follow all company policies, procedures, work instructions, and normal practices while executing all duties, with safety being the most important.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and etiquette while interacting with hourly team members, drivers, company management, visitors, and vendors, whether the interaction is via email, telephone, in person, or messaging systems.
  • Continually seek to advance process and systems personal knowledge as it relates to functionality and effectiveness of executing duties and responsibilities of this position.
  • Respond to communications (emails, messages, and phone calls) in a timely manner (within 24 hours or sooner). Be able to accurately interpret urgent requests and respond accordingly.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, preferably using 5-S methods of standardization.
  • Direct/control materials, equipment, and staff of Shipping or Receiving areas in a manner that promotes an environment of safety, efficiency, and accuracy.
  • Perform training of staff on current policies, procedures, work instructions, and best practices required to perform all shipping or receiving functions to acceptable performance levels.
  • Openly share experiences, opinions, ideas, with your direct supervisor, department team members, and those within your circle of influence.
  • Review Receiving / Shipping schedule daily and available Transfer Orders, Plan dock availability accordingly.
  • Collection of Shipping / receiving paperwork for entry into the computer system in a timely manner, to include Transfer Order#, Due Date, Line item, SKU, and Quantity, as required.
  • Collection of Transfer slip and pertinent information of orders.
  • Generating accurate material labels for all items.
  • Accurately file and store all appropriate paperwork, physically and electronically to be retrieved at any time for AP and AR departments.
  • Training of new shipping / receiving personnel in processes and day to day job skills.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized dock through personnel and process.
  • Verification of transfer orders and their corresponding transactions, paperwork, and locations, to/from locations to always be accurate to match physical records.
  • Work with internal departments on product availability, common sense budgeting, and parts delivery to achieve Best In Class service to customers, including all weld, fabrication, quality, engineering, and materials departments.
  • Collect data on load efficiency, manage past due metrics, and ensure KPI's are meeting expectations, up to and including OTIF, cubed Vans/Flats, past due, and JIT (x2 +).
  • Report on all metrics and efficiencies to senior management, including but not limited to, Director Of Supply Chain, Chief Supply Chain Officer, Materials Manager, Inventory Manager, Materials Supervisor, Group Lead and Distribution Coordinator.
  • Operate all types of tools and machines essential and necessary to the job, including, but not limited to, forklifts, hand jacks, tape measures, calculator, computers, loading docks, cranes, scales, data collection equipment, radios, and printer/copy machine.
  • Verify incoming and outgoing material shipments for accuracy. Check quality of materials and spot defective materials.
  • Conduct cycle and physical counting of all materials assigned.
  • Loading /unloading materials from trailers and trucks; inside and outside the building.
  • Perform daily checks on equipment including fluid levels. Complete checklist of OPM on all equipment, when used.
  • Contribute to the team effort to produce a quality product.
  • Must maintain acceptable attendance, attend all scheduled training, and comply with all company standards and policies.
  • Ensure the safety of others working in the vicinity of moving vehicles.
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work and communicate professionally and effectively in a team environment, as well as to senior managers within Supply Chain and Operations and all Support departments.
  • The company may assign other duties.

Qualifications



  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent, based on education and work experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications

    • Forklift and crane certification
    • Must have valid driver's license


  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Must have minimum 1 year experience in same role, or 2 years experience in a similar role.
    • Accurate counting and measuring
    • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
    • Ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace.
    • Comfortable gathering information on a computer
    • Minimum of 1 year experience with Syteline transactions and sufficient system knowledge to successfully complete all job tasks within 30 days of position start

Training:



  • Orientation
  • 1-week additional MC training through Technical Training
  • 1-week OTJ training with expert in role.
  • Company provided training may include but not limited to:

    • Forklift - Sit down & stand-up forklift
    • Overhead Crane
