Job Summary
Work as a GRA in entomological biotechnology which includes the following potential tasks: DNA extractions, PCR, molecular gene cloning, basic microbiological testing, recombinant protein expression and biochemical purification of enzymes. Prepares solutions, reagents and media according to detailed instructions. Inventories and requisitions supplies for assigned area as well as checks in shipments and restocks shelves. Cleans and maintains equipment field and/or laboratory equipment. Multiple funded projects are available including medical/veterinary entomological research on litter beetle poultry pest prevention; microbiological characterization of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria on insect pests of cotton and other crops; Microbiological/Entomological research on Wolbachia endosymbionts to exploit reproductive manipulations for the control of pest populations.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Entomology, Genetics, Agriculture or related field
Willing to apply to or being a currently enrolled Auburn University graduate student
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a research laboratory.
Pay Rate $1,666.66/monthly - $2,083.33/monthly
