At Healthcare in Action, we serve patients experiencing homelessness through an innovative "street medicine" approach by contracting with Medicare and Medicaid health plans as well as hospitals and health systems. Street medicine entails using a medically equipped van to deliver medical care directly to people experiencing homelessness in locations such as parking lots, encampments, and parks. As a Temporary Program Manager at Healthcare in Action, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the implementation of various healthcare programs and initiatives. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects and grants that align with our mission. The ideal candidate has a strong background in healthcare management, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for driving positive change in the healthcare setting. **This position is a temporary assignment for approximately 3 months duration, mostly remote with on occasion travel to Riverside and Long Beach** **Key tasks of this position are grant billing including direct labor, indirect expenses, operational expenses and collecting all the backup documentation** Responsibilities include:
- Program Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine program goals, objectives, and strategies that align with the organization's mission and vision.
- Project Planning and Execution: Create and maintain comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. Ensure effective implementation and adherence to project management best practices.
- Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, government agencies, community organizations, and donors. Communicate project updates, manage expectations, and address any concerns or issues with clear written and verbal communication.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring financial resources are allocated appropriately. Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource utilization.
- Monitoring and Evaluation: Implement systems to monitor program performance and outcomes, collecting relevant data and metrics. Analyze results, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for program enhancements.
- Team Collaboration: Provide guidance and direction to program staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure program activities and operations comply with relevant regulations, policies, and legal requirements. Prepare regular reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and impact assessments.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in healthcare. Identify opportunities for innovation and propose strategies for program enhancement and expansion.
- Actively support the achievement of HIA's Vision and Goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree, with preference in healthcare management, public health, or a related field, Required.
- 3+ years of proven experience in program management, preferably in the healthcare sector or nonprofit organizations.
- Grants management experience, accounting, grant billing, grant reporting strongly preferred
- Experience with HMIS a plus
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate across diverse teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
Proficient in project management tools and software.
