This job oversees the strategic planning, direction, implementation and tracking of marketing and communications initiatives in assigned region. Leverages the System marketing and communications strategy by aligning and customizing in assigned region; builds brand equity, reputation and positioning in respective region; defines and tracks regional key performance indicators to identify trends and opportunities. Serves as a strategic advisor to regional executive leadership team and supervises a team of regional marketing and communications professionals.

Education

Required - Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business administration, or related field.

Preferred - Master's degree in communications, marketing, business administration, or related field.

Work Experience

Required - 5 years of experience in communications strategy, planning, management and measurement, including 3 years in management.

Preferred - 7 years of communications experience and/or communications experience in a healthcare system or nationally-ranked hospital.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to various levels of people.
  • Ability to manage staff and a regional marketing and communications budget and be accountable for results.
  • Ability to analyze information and make recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with staff members, physicians and senior leadership.
  • Must have initiative, strong attention to detail, strong project management and organizational skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of required job information. Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.

Job Duties

  • Establishes and oversees strategic marketing plans and budgets for the region that contributes to regional and system-wide strategic and operational goals.
  • Oversees social, digital and reputation programs. Builds brand equity, improves reputation and brand position, and contributes to employee engagement and desired culture in the assigned region.
  • Ensures timely delivery of all marketing programs for the region to acquire, retain and engage consumers and to enhance the image and reputation of the organization.
  • Works with the marketing and communications analytics team to measure messaging across multiple platforms and tactics to achieve focused goals and targets and continuously reviews regional analysis and measures of key performance(s) indicators to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Strategically aligns regional internal communications with system internal communications to leverage platforms and drive employee engagement.
  • Manages media relations and crisis communications within the region.
  • Supervises regional marketing and communications team members and provides coaching and development.
  • Manages outside agencies, internal resources, and budget to maximize results and achieve regional and organizational goals.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
