Quality Control Technician

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated Quality Control Technician to join our Quality team, providing support within the lab environment.

This role will be a full-time onsite position based out of our Paris, KY facility.You will have the opportunity to be part of a collaborative team within a fast-paced environment.If you are interested in learning more within the lab setting - let's talk!

What we're looking for

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience: 1+ year applicable experience (preferred)
  • Collaboration Tool: MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • Ability to lift and handle at least 30 lbs

  • Ability to use a man lift to move reserve trays in and out of the racks

  • Be comfortable with heights

  • Ability to schedule time and multitask

  • Will require ability to walk and push a cart with reserve samples

  • Will be required to pass pulmonary function test in order to wear a respirator

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Storage and retrieval of reserve samples
  • Operation of lift for use in reserve storage and retrieval
  • Management of reserve life cycle
  • Preparation of sample scheduling boards
  • Movement of glassware to and from dishwasher
  • Maintaining Kanban levels for QC laboratory for consumables
  • Use of LabVantage and SAP for processing QC lab samples
  • Removing and dumping QC lab residue
  • General cleanliness of share lab areas
  • Issuance and life cycle management of laboratory use logs and notebooks
  • Preparing and delivery of Poland and other QC lab samples to Distribution daily

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT (Under Typical Positions)

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is exposed to an industrial warehouse environment.

The associate works near moving mechanical machinery and noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

The job requires working in heights, exposure to changes in temperature, driving equipment, and maybe exposed to dust, fumes, or gases.

The associate is required to stand and walk for the majority of the working day.

The physical requirements of the job are for associates to talk, hear, bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb height, reach above shoulder height, crouch, kneel, balance, and push/pull.

Furthermore, the job requires associates to lift/carry/push or pull up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.Associates use both hands for repetitive actions such as grasping and manipulating as well as both feet for repetitive movement operating foots controls.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
