OVERVIEW: Job Title: Civil Foreman Location: Ellsworth Air Force Base | Rapid City, South Dakota Job Type: Full-Time Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, Saturday dependent upon Project Schedule Performance Evaluated by: Superintendent Purpose: Monitor and supervise the excavation, rough grading, storm drain installation, fine grading, and installation of base course phases so as not to delay concrete paving production. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: ** RC will gladly provide a reasonable accommodation to assist Grading Foreman in performing these essential job functions so long as it does not create an undue burden. Effectively manage people and relationships on the project daily amongst your team, creating efficiencies in performance by:
- Successfully manage a crew of 5-6 people, and may also engage in the trade work of the employees being supervised
- Interaction in a professional, courteous, and civil manner
- Determine work schedule and manpower requirements for you team for each task to be performed.
- Set examples of acceptable work practices including time management
- Submit crew members' time sheets to payroll by the required deadline
Produce a quality product per plans and specifications:
- Have complete knowledge and understanding of all plans and specifications (grading, cut/fills, utilities, and quantities.)
- Maintain communication with the Superintendent regarding progress, delays, material quantities, etc.
- Manage all storm drainage processes
- Manage all areas of dirt work & base course installation, including excavation, grade work, surveying and final excavating work
- Operate equipment excavator, dozer, loader etc.
- Maintain proficiency in 3-D machine controls
Effectively document the project in a systematic and efficient manner:
- Collect daily equipment inspections and cost code appropriately to be submitted to the Superintendent daily
- Maintain/Update Production Reports as necessary
Create a safe work environment by:
- Follow and enforce all established RC Construction safety policies
- Maintain OSHA 10hr/OSHA 30hr and yearly CEU requirements
- Maintain current CPR/FA Certification
- Report any unsafe behavior or near miss incidents to the SSHO for documentation and corrective action.

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5yrs heavy civil/site experience
- Minimum 5yrs heavy equipment operating experience
- CDL preferred (for use of company service truck)
- Welding a plus
- Must be able to obtain and maintain military base access and FAA clearance
- Must be able to provide supporting documents for the form I-9
- MVR must meet company's insurance guidelines, if driving a company vehicle

- Ability to repeatedly operate a 12lb sledgehammer throughout the entire workday and week
- Ability to climb up and down a 6foot step ladder and balance
- Ability to work up to a 12-hour shift in all weather and temperature extremes Vision adequate to perform all tasks
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment as needed to perform job tasks
- Employee is regularly exposed to noise, dust, and various types of smells
- Employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.
- Employee must be able to properly use and handle toxic or caustic chemicals.
- Employee is regularly exposed to wet, hot, and/or humid conditions, high precarious places, and outside weather conditions
