JOB TITLE:

Program manager and Associate Director, Biodiversity Institute

JOB PURPOSE: Ensure mission of Biodiversity Institute is fulfilled by providing collaborative research, education and outreach efforts. Provide leadership, supervision and development for community outreach events and programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Strategically plan and manage ongoing and future initiatives of the Biodiversity Institute to fulfill its mission of disseminating University of Wyoming research to communities throughout Wyoming.
  • Develop and instruct courses for accredited biodiversity certificate programs.
  • Oversee the non-credit biodiversity course program, develop and manage curriculum, deliver courses and oversee volunteer instructors.
  • Organize and implement outreach events in collaboration with staff to showcase biodiversity science through interactive activities.
  • Supervise program staff and serve as a resource for biodiversity education materials and information.
  • Ensure effective stewardship of private donors through collaborative efforts with program staff.
  • Assist in the implementation of programmatic and administrative policies and procedures.
  • Serve in absence of director.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Participate in performance-related goal setting and achievement to meet personal and organizational goals and objectives.
  • Attend and participate in training and other personal professional development activity.

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Master's degree in environmental science, conservation of biodiversity or equivalent

Experience: 4 years work-related experience, including course and outreach delivery

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: PhD in environmental science, conservation of biodiversity or equivalent

Experience: supervision of employees and development of courses or outreach programs
