As a Product Manager you will own the development and success of the Foamglas Insulation product line within the industrial and mechanical segment of Technical Insulation. You will be responsible to help maximize the growth and profitability of the business, working closely with your leader and cross-functional teams to define product and/or segment vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs. This requires a deep understanding of the value chain, customer needs, and opportunities in the market and translating these insights into actionable strategies and roadmaps.
Reports to: Strategic Marketing Leader, Specialty Insulation Span of Control: Individual contributor Location: Open to remote work setup. Must be located in Eastern or Central timezone.
Deep Understanding of the Market(s) OC Operates In
- Understand and analyze industry and market trends, the value chain and how OC makes money, and competitive landscape to inform the product development roadmap.
- Continuously build an intimate and thorough knowledge of the customer (their business, product innovation needs and the value that our current and future products deliver) through a combination of market research and personal customer relationships.
- Understand and synthesize the opportunities that exist in the market and how OC can/should participate.
Product and/or Segment Strategy Development
- Define and communicate the product and/or segment vision and strategy, aligning it with business goals and market opportunities.
- Partner with S&T to develop a product innovation pipeline to meet customer objectives and drive competitive advantage in the market.
- Leverage data to recommend choices on where to focus and where not to focus based on segmentation, profitability, and current and future customer needs. Drive best decision for the company versus product line or function.
- Consistently drive products and programs to improve cost structure at all levels.
Product and/or Segment Strategy Execution and Portfolio Management
- Develop a product and technology roadmap that supports the overarching strategy, partnering with leader to prioritize initiatives based on business value and customer impact.
- Lead successful launch and commercialization of new products/services and extensions to the product line. Collaborate across Marketing, Pricing, Sales, Science & Technology, Finance, Operations, Legal, Sourcing and Supply Chain to accomplish.
- Own customer fitness for use (CFFU) development for your product line, ensuring the product not only meets technical specifications but also delivers real value to the end user, enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Ensure the delivery of the product-line strategy (including financial outcomes) through the organization, operating model and management systems. Align to near-term and strategic requirements of the organization.
- Identify issues and work through cross-functional teams to drive resolution.
- Define and track key performance metrics to measure product success and inform future improvements.
Product Line Profitability
- Ongoing assessment of the profitability of your product line, understanding which levers to pull to maximize profitability through the sales cycle and monetize new opportunities and make associated business recommendations.
- Possess strong business acumen and understanding of the P&L to enable profitability analysis.
- Own the value propositions for your product line and ensure they are well understood and adopted by Pricing and Sales teams.
- Perform mix/SKU rationalization and recommend which products remain relevant and if there are any products that should be retired.
Work Horizontally to Achieve Goals:
- Creates teamwork across functions to maximize the performance of OC and achieve shared objectives.
- Provide clear, timely communications to all stakeholders regarding product line status, needs, and achievements.
- Teach and coach others to help them build a deep understanding of the industry and markets and an intimate understanding of the customers and their needs.
- Engage in personal development planning and meaningful goal setting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, product management, business, or related field.
- 4-5 years' experience in marketing, product management or analytical roles
- Ability to travel up to 20-30% of the time
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in matrix organizations with multiple distribution channels and influencers. Development of successful internal and external relationships.
- Experience in shaping business strategy and leading strategic planning with best-in-class analytical tools
- Gaining customer, market and competitive insight
- Experience leading cross-functional teams. Aptitude to build processes and programs that can be scaled.
