Transportation Services supports the University's mission by maximizing campus access through environmentally sustainable practices, superior customer service, and through innovation and professional management of transportation resources and facilities.

Position Overview

The Assistant Director of Parking at the University of North Texas supports parking services by overseeing daily operations, customer service, parking software management, and policy development. This role requires collaboration with other departments, manages budgets, and focuses on enhancing campus parking and transportation solutions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field and five years' of professional related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and stakeholders.
Excellent communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with customer service and conflict resolution in a high demand environment.
Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze data, and generate reports.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a university or large instructional setting.
Familiarity with sustainable transportation initiatives (e.g. bike sharing programs, electric vehicle charging stations).
Knowledge of relevant software tools for parking management (e.g. permit tracking systems, citation management software).
5+ years of experience in parking management, transportation services, or a related field

Required License/Registration/Certifications

Valid Driver's license

Job Duties:



  • Demonstrates honesty, fairness, ethical conduct, and responsibility for actions
  • Balances financial transactions with computer records to ensure accuracy secures all monies when leaving workstation
  • Data is entered in a meticulous yet efficient fashion.
  • Demonstrates a courteous, friendly, and helpful attitude when dealing with students, the public, departments, and other UNT employees.
  • Takes direction from supervisor, accepts constructive criticism, and demonstrates a willingness to address performance issues.
  • Informs supervisor of issues, problems, and concerns in a timely fashion and appropriate manner.
  • Exercises appropriate discretion in resolving problems, complaints, and performance issues.
  • Has an understanding of peak work periods and demonstrates responsibility by regular attendance.
  • Manages time well and completes assigned projects within established guidelines
  • Has a good working knowledge of UNT, its parking rules regulations, and its parking lots and street locations to allow for accurate dissemination of information.
