Description TFE, Inc. is searching for an experienced Engineering Technician IV to fill a position at Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. This position test, adjust, troubleshoots, repairs, and overhauls multiple discipline equipment components to manufacturer specifications and customer expectations in a clean / safe work environment, with assistance as needed. This position reports directly to the M&R Supervisor. RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: *\tPerforming installation, routine inspections, and maintenance *\tTrouble-shooting of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, refrigeration and industrial electrical equipment. *\tPerform assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed *\tSelects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents *\tReceives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or customer as needed. *\tPerforms recurring work independently *\tAccurately prepares and completes appropriate documentation. *\tRespond to Trouble Call (TC) / unscheduled maintenance requirements. Physical Requirements You must possess the ability to frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs, work at heights; work in confined spaces; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl; talk, hear, taste, and smell. The employee must possess the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Requirements Education/Experience A high school diploma and progressively responsible engineering technician related experience. Experience in the Maximo CMMS system desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of applicable engineering theory, methods and practices. Skill in the use of applicable engineering equipment and instrumentation. Ability to apply sound engineering principles to the solution of technical problems. Ability to perform complex mathematical and engineering calculations. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to oversee the work of technical and skilled-trade subordinates.
