DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Highway Sign Worker, your responsibilities will involve identifying and installing directional signage along state highways. This role encompasses the replacement of damaged sign posts and signs, ensuring that all signage is in optimal condition. Additionally, you will be tasked with clearing weeds around state highway signs and painting crosswalks and parking stalls, adhering to environmental protection standards. Furthermore, you will engage in skilled maintenance work for various types of signs throughout Fayette County, contributing to the overall safety and functionality of the highway system.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Shift work may be required as operationally necessary.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a painter's helper or other work leading to journeyman skills in sign painting; and such training as may have been gained through completion of the eighth school grade; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
