SUMMARY

The Manager of Total Rewards & Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) is responsible for overseeing the Compensation, Employee Benefits, and HRIS functional teams and supporting senior leadership to identify, develop, translate and deploy strategic initiatives in these areas. The Manager oversees the day-to-day delivery of NASSCO's compensation, health, welfare and retirement programs and is accountable for the ongoing implementation and design of all Total Rewards programs to optimize the company's competitive position and employee experience. The manager is also responsible for overseeing all HRIS systems and provides data management and visualization support and analytics to stakeholders across the enterprise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES



  • Evaluate and manage Total Rewards programs to support a high-performing culture, a competitive employer position and avenues to increase talent attraction and retention.
  • Advise senior leaders in translating business strategy into Total Rewards solutions.
  • Lead teams responsible for compensation and benefits program administration, including health, welfare, 401(k), life, disability, medical savings accounts, and voluntary plans in order to integrate services efficiently and maximize value to employees and the company.
  • In collaboration with corporate partners, ensure Total Rewards programs are compliant with relevant laws and regulations in partnership with Human Resources, including FLSA, ERISA and ACA.
  • Oversee compensation lead and provide strategic guidance on all compensation plans, including salary structure and design, merit pay processes, job classifications and new descriptions, budget reviews, and market analyses.
  • Collaborate on existing and new healthcare programs with key stakeholders and outside entities including consultants, providers, administrators, and General Dynamics corporate representatives.
  • Provide guidance and support to satellite operations on benefits strategies, as needed.
  • Guide and oversee strategic benefit-related communications to promote quality, cost awareness, and value, with an emphasis on educated healthcare consumerism.
  • Recommend new or revised processes to enhance efficiencies, cost-effectiveness and alignment with compensation trends and corporate objectives; oversee and update all internal compensation-related guidelines, policies and instructions.
  • Manage and organize the creation and delivery of workforce data reports, summaries, and analytics requested by stakeholders across the business; design, deploy and maintain HRIS dashboard.
  • Ensure the optimal function of the organization's internal HR information services systems, which may include database management, customization, development, and upgrades to applications, systems, and modules.
  • Lead projects between HR, IT,external entities, and other stakeholders for HR database design, network support, and maintenance and implementation projects.
  • Oversee HRIS customer service activities, including permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HR services users.
  • Other duties as assigned.



SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS



  • B.S. Degree in Human Resources Management, Finance, Business or a related discipline required. MBA or related Master's degree highly preferred.
  • Seven to ten years of direct experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Prior cross-functional leadership experience in Human Resources preferred , including leading Compensation, Benefits and/or HR Analytics.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and prioritize projects.
  • Ability to leverage team skills for optimal performance and service delivery.
  • Ability to develop, use, interpret and communicate human capital data analyses.
  • Prior experience developing a compensation strategy.
  • Strong business acumen and proven influencer with demonstrated leadership attributes.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work primarily conducted in an office setting with good lighting. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Regularly required to sit, use hands to fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and maintain the ability to commute to other buildings in and outside the shipyard for meetings, presentations and training. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.

ACCOUNTABILITY

This position reports to the Vice President ot Human Resources. The Manager of Total Rewards & HRIS supervises the Compensation, Employee Benefits, and HRIS functional teams of exempt and non-exempt employees. This role must demonstrate high integrity, confidentiality, solid work ethic and a commitment to General Dynamics GD NASSCO. The position may also oversee the activities of external consultants and service providers.

PAY SCALE

$131,325 - $169,950

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education. General Dynamics NASSCO also provides a variety of benefits including medical & dental insurance coverage, 401(k) retirement savings plan, flexible spending accounts/HSAs, life and disability insurance, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO), wellness coaching, and an onsite health services.
