Salary: From $20.50 per hour plus $2.00 shift differential

Shift: Monday -Thursday 5pm-330am. Overtime on Fridays and/or Saturdays.

Job Summary

As a Chemical Compounder, your job is to mix raw materials to create finished products according to batch sheets. You must weigh the correct chemicals and sample finished products to ensure quality approval. You should have a good understanding of all the company's products and the mixing equipment used. Following standard instructions, you must measure or weigh chemicals, and other substances into the machinery, ensuring consistency in various batches and measuring the viscosity of mixtures. You must take samples of the compound and turn them over to a laboratory for testing. Sanitation guidelines must be followed thoroughly when cleaning machinery, and paperwork about the compound batches must be filled out accurately.

Education and Experience Profile

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Intermediate arithmetic skills to calculate percentages, units of measure, and conversions from one unit to another.
  • Experience handling large complex batches of chemicals or raw ingredients and helping to mix them.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex formulas and instructions
  • Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and tools
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

Required Skills

  • Must have the ability to operate digital, balance, and dial scales.
  • Must have the ability to operate and adjust mixers and mixing timers.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and at elevated levels.
  • Must be able to lift 75lbs

Work Environment

To ensure safety, all prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hearing protection, safety glasses, respirator, and steel-toed shoes must be worn. Apart from that, the working conditions are typical for a manufacturing environment.
