Job Highlights
The Applications Chemist will collaborate with technical and commercial teams to create new product offerings, formulations, and testing methodologies for a wide range of applications in our expanding list of markets, including personal care, home, industrial, institutional, agriculture, fragrance, flavor, and more. This includes formulating solutions and new products in the laboratory, analyzing results, and documenting project findings for use by our business teams and customers. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with the technical and commercial teams to create new product offerings and formulation solutions for a wide range of applications in our expanding list of markets such as personal care, HI&I, agriculture, fragrance and more. Design experiments to define and demonstrate our products effectiveness in those formulations in the lab. Evaluate, analyze, and document results in reports and presentations as needed.
- Work with the sales team to understand the customer's needs and opportunities, then develop solutions within our product lines. Includes meetings, travel, presentations, troubleshooting, or commercial support of our products and formulations. Participate and lead technical and formulation discussions in customer meetings. Involvement with various trade organizations, attending meetings, conferences, and participating on Committees as needed.
- Laboratory experiment design, synthesis, purification, analysis, literature research, and optimization studies to develop new products or processes to be implemented into our facilities.
- Evaluate existing plant processes for potential improvements and modifications. Assist plant production team with identifying and troubleshooting issues as they come up.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience.
- Work Safely in a laboratory setting alongside existing team.
- Product formulation and preservation experience; preferably in personal care, fragrance, or homecare. Experience with microbiology is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to present data in written or verbally to fellow R&D team, the commercial teams or directly to the Customer in a technical service role.
- Ability to design experiments and execute them safely in the laboratory including various formulations, synthesis, reactions, and distillations, including analysis and evaluation methods.

Actual compensation will vary depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
