Sr. Director, U.S. HRBP & Labor Relations

Reporting to theVP, Human Resources for North America, the Senior Director, U.S. HRBP & Labor Relations will participate as a member of the North America HR Leadership Team alongside HR Leaders for Canada and Mexico. The HR function will partner with executives and colleagues across the business to support and deliver on the company's goals and commitments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Lead the performance of the Human Resources Local Chemical Distribution (LCD) team
  • Continue to develop a high performing HRBP team that is designed and built around business objectives
  • Serve as an effective business partner by providing operational and leadership support to key stakeholders including Regional Vice Presidents and other functional leaders.
  • Partner closely with the leadership team and business with a focus around growth, divestment, restructuring and other corporate plans
  • Leverage experience working with unions to help plan and implement our strategy for North American unions
  • Execute on HR strategic initiatives
  • Manage and support the delivery of:
    • A strategic local human resources plan encompassing a clear and shared vision across the USA
    • Succession and talent development strategy
    • Organizational change management
    • Organizational culture and people engagement
    • New ways of working
  • Partner with the Labor COE and lead/support negotiations in North America
  • Support investigations - reviewing outcomes, challenging results where needed, and signing off with each case closed
  • Partner closely with Employment Attorney and NA VP Legal

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related discipline
  • At least 10 years of strong functional HR and Business Partner experience
  • Prior experience with labor relations and union avoidance including negotiations and the grievance/arbitration process
  • Demonstrated experience leading regional teams and working across geographies
  • Strong ability to partner with and influence senior leaders
  • Experience in the chemical industry or other related industrial sectors, preferred
  • Ability to travel 25%

  • The ideal candidate will be based out ofDowners Grove, IL, The Woodlands, TX, or another Univar Solutions corporate office

PAY & BENEFITS:

  • The salary range for this position is $198,070-$257,500 and is eligible for incentive pay
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location
  • Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental. We also provide 401k matching for retirement and paid time off
