Position Summary: Position is responsible for assessing company performance and partnering in all strategic development. Responsibilities include financial reporting oversight, information technology oversight, general administration, cash management, audits, tax filings, insurance and retirement plan administration. Essential duties and responsibilities (3-5 core functions representing 80% of time spent):
- Partner with the CEO on key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, assessing organizational performance against budget and long-term strategy.
- Oversee completion of regular reports, analyze financial results, communicate performance with key staff and develop operational recommendations. Review month end closing activities, overhead allocations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Engage the board, finance, and audit committee around issues in the operational model. Develop and report financial plans and projections with board and committees.
- Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets and projections.
- Remain current on nonprofit reporting and practices and ensure appropriate internal controls and financial procedures. Implement financial and accounting systems to improve efficiencies, as well as efficiencies in the rehabilitation/clinical settings.
- Coordinate annual audit and tax filings.
- Oversee finance strategies, cash flow planning and management, financing, investments, and asset management.
- Approve and review weekly payable, execute check signing/ACH approval.
- Develop predictive models and activity based financial analyses to provide insight into operations and business decisions.
- Develop analysis of business initiatives such as new business opportunities and asset acquisitions.
- Participate in and coordinate with Financial Development/Grants team on budgets and stats related to grant submissions.
- Represent the agency by developing contacts through NIB/NAEPB and community presentations and networking.
- Participates as a member of the Senior Management team.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the President/CEO.
- Must wear all protective equipment required by department.
- Must follow all company policies and procedures including departmental safety policies.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Accounting with 5+ years of experience as a CFO or equivalent; CPA, CMA or MBA would be preferred.
- Pertinent accounting experience within the agency in lieu of above requirements is acceptable with approval of the President/CEO.
- Must be familiar with the operating methods and ethics of voluntary, not-for-profit organizations.
