Your Day to Day:

Responsible for all project management processes on low to medium complexity projects or on a portion (i.e. work package) of highly complex projects. Lead small project teams (sizes up to 10 team members) which may include project controls. May be assigned overall project manager responsibility of a highly complex project in a deputy capacity (with direct guidance of an Advanced Project Manager or higher).

Example project disciplines include fuel engineering software development, BWR Lead Test Assembly development projects, Digital & Innovation projects, capital projects and Process Improvement initiatives. All project management is performed in accordance with the established Westinghouse and further Nuclear Fuel Engineering's organizational policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.





  • Interface and collaborate with International/US internal teams, Program Managers, other stakeholders, and customer PMs/technical personnel



  • Coordinate, track, and help resolve project technical questions/actions



  • Oversee and drive all facets of technical Nuclear LUA/reload development, including planning, scheduling, budget forecasting, and request authorizations



  • Work with technical managers to assign resources to align with schedule timelines



  • Plan and coordinate New Fuels Transition Program Planning with all key departments



  • Present monthly project dashboard metric presentations/reviews



  • Solve problems and negotiate as needed to keep projects and teams moving forward and on track to meet all milestones



  • Write and communicate effectively for customer document and data transmittals, meeting notes, presentations, etc.



  • Complete all aspects of the planning process, including authoring project plans and developing scope, schedule, cost baselines, resource and financial forecasts, and risk registers



  • Manage project execution to achieve quality, schedule, and financial goals while following department protocols for acquiring team members to complete the work. This includes:




    • Manage the scope, schedule, cost/revenue, risk, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders while aligned with project/contract requirements



    • Prepare and oversee project cost/revenue expenditures forecasts and progress evaluations to support project and financial reporting requirements



    • Promote teamwork and effective communication, including issuing and maintaining project process metrics and process maps to ensure team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed of project status.



    • Develop and/or oversee project databases, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of internal/external project correspondence and documentation





  • Properly close projects by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools and supplement the close out through identification and communication of opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work



  • Serve as a single representative to the customer (mostly internal), utilizing interpersonal skills to cultivate positive relationships with the team, customer, and other stakeholders (including Product Management) to successfully facilitate project completion and identify opportunities for business growth.



  • Identify, assess, and implement improvement opportunities that will add value





Who You Are:

As a successful candidate, you bring the following to the team:




  • Bachelor's degree. Applicable disciplines are Project Management, Engineering, Business, Construction Management or related technical discipline.



  • Minimum 4 years of experience as project manager leading and directing low or medium complexity projects to successful completion. 4years in technical/engineering role may be considered as equivalent.



  • Broad knowledge of technical topics related to nuclear power plants.



  • Solid (or ability to quickly acquire) understanding of the fuel engineering processes





Preferred:




  • 5+ years of experience as project manager with a proven track record in a technical industry such as engineering, manufacturing, nuclear or construction including primary customer interface responsibilities



  • Experience with agile project management and corresponding tools (Helix ALM, Jira)



  • Vendor management experience



  • Project Management Institute's Project Management Professional certification (PMP), or approved equivalent



  • Advanced interpersonal skills such as effective verbal and written communications, ability to lead and direct complex team structures, able to develop relationships with stakeholders in upper management positions, able to analyze problems, establish facts, and make complex decisions with little to no supervision.



  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools. Strong working knowledge in project schedule, cost and risk management processes and associated tools (e.g., Primavera, SAP, Active Risk Manager, MS Project, or other related tools).



  • Advanced ability or understanding of the transformation of data to information for visual reports; database concepts to manage data within systems; the interaction of company functions that are touch points to projects (Finance, Legal, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.). High-quality presentation skills.



  • Expected to complete assigned training in Westinghouse Systems, Procedures, and Policies applicable to assignments.
