Pay Range: $66,227 - $83,491 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee the annual operating budgets of three departments; analyze revenue projections and monitor expenditures.

  • Reconcile budgets and expenses via invoices, P-Cards, purchase orders, etc.

  • Issue requisitions for purchases.

  • Maintain PO/blanket balances and renewals.

  • Process accounts receivable.

  • Prepare regular financial reports for management; identify variances and other budget issues and concerns.

  • Develop and forecast performance metrics and trending indicators.

  • Recommend opportunities for streamlining and improving operational efficiency.

  • Provide financial training to staff.

  • Facilitate the annual development of department budgets.

  • Ensure compliance with administrative policies and procedures.

  • Manage administrative office functions.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree 5-7 years related experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or similar field of study

  • 8-10 years experience in purchasing, finance, accounting, budgeting and/or auditing for a municipality

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Proficient skill in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint)

  • Proficient skill in utilizing budgeting, financial and third-party reporting software

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize time-sensitive assignments to meet critical deadlines

  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive matters or issues

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid Class C Texas driver's license

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The incumbent works in a typical office environment; relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards.
