DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Highway Foreman 2, you will assist with overseeing vital maintenance functions, confidently overseeing the planning of materials, traffic control, equipment availability, and personnel management. You will also expertly assess your staff's skill levels, identifying training and growth opportunities that will elevate overall performance. In this role, you will lead a dedicated highway maintenance crew, guiding them with authority in manual labor and heavy equipment operations to effectively execute routine maintenance and repairs on and around assigned highways. You will be responsible for the year-round planning, execution, and successful completion of all project phases and assignments, ensuring the highest standards of efficiency and excellence in every operation.

- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Travel, overtime and shift work required. Work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,932 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Highway Foreman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Two years of experience in the performance of lead work or skilled tradesman duties on a highway maintenance or construction project; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania Driver's License.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
