Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Configuration Management Lead to work on our Security Engineering team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Research and Education Campus with every other Friday off.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Responsible for system and functionality in its entirety to include requirements, engineering, design, installation, testing and maintenance.
  • Determines engineering approach for solving problems and meeting customer needs.
  • Apply Electrical and Electronic Engineering principles for preparing releasable drawings, calculations and specifications for design, construction, maintenance and D & D associated with security and alarms systems in Nuclear and General Industrial Plant Facilities and Processes associated with Security Systems equipment.
  • Participate in engineering and design committees for security areas and facilities.
  • Establish parameters and requirements for design and purchase of new physical security equipment.
  • Perform detailed assessments of security systems to determine the vulnerability of assets to potential theft or sabotage by adversaries.
  • Supervises the work control process and requirements for all security systems at INL.
  • Develop and implement work control processes and ensure Security Systems is compliant with all company work control and engineering standards and procedures.
  • Function as Technical Lead for the development of the Security Systems Work Control System. Represents department as part of the Senior Maintenance Manager Committee (SMMC) for INL.
  • Function as the point of contact and representative of Security Systems for self-assessment and corrective actions as part of the Safeguards and Security self-assessment team.
  • Serve as the point of contact and subject matter expert for Security Systems to DOE-HQ concerning the Department of Energy Physical Security Protection order.
  • Serve as the Derivative Classifier for documents concerning Security Systems.
  • Develop modern processes, procedures, instructions, guidance, and tools to establish and maintain configuration management within assigned programs.
  • Establish and maintain consistency between design requirements, physical configuration, and documentation (including analysis, drawings, and procedures) for assigned system requirements and physical equipment.
  • Provide integration and collaboration between engineering staff with business and project support functions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:



  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Technical Discipline in security system design and analysis or electrical/electronics and 14 years of experience, or a Master's and 8 years of relevant experience, or a PhD and 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in electronics field required.
  • Must be knowledgeable in serial and TCP/IP communications.
  • Must have strong background in security system design and analysis, electrical/electronics, fiber optics, data acquisition systems, and instrumentation and controls.
  • Must possess demonstrated experience in providing leadership, strategic and tactical planning, and overall leadership and execution of large, complex, and technically challenging programs requiring multidisciplinary integration across multiple organizations.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance and Human Reliability Program (HRP) certification, which requires US Citizenship.


Job Information:



  • The pay range for this position is ($111,888 - $229,284). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
  • HRP: Human Reliability Program: You will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and continued drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
