About Ameren Illinois Ameren Illinois provides electric transmission and distribution service and natural gas distribution service. Every day, we deliver electricity to 1.2 million electric and 816,000 natural gas customers in central and southern Illinois. We deliver safe, reliable energy to more than 1,200 communities. About The Position Supervise, train, and evaluate engineering personnel performing studies, design, and specification duties relating to protection of new and existing distribution, customer, and bulk substations; and distribution and sub-transmission lines involving voltages from 4.16 kV to 69 kV, within the Ameren Illinois service territories. Perform similar duties for transmission and generation protection issues as assigned. Key responsibilities include:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Option desired) from an accredited college or university. Master's Degree preferred. Professional Engineer License preferred. Five or more years of experience related to power system protection design or maintenance. Prefer person with power system protection experience who has knowledge of symmetrical components, use of computers, and protection devices. Familiarity with Ameren subtransmission and distribution system, and schematic control diagrams is desirable. In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate: Good leadership, management, analytical, communication, flexibility, and human relations skills required. Must be willing to travel. Normal work location is Decatur, but a regular presence at other engineering work locations is required. Being open to relocation would be a plus. After preliminary review, selected applicants must take the First Line Supervisor Test and obtain a recommended status in order to be eligible for additional selection procedures (e.g., interview) designated for this position.Compensation Range: $128,700.00 - $199,500.00At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
