IEM is looking for a Full Time- Environmental and Historic Preservation Compliance Specialist. Primary Location:
- Candidates can originate from anywhere in the United States, you will work remotely from home or personal office location.
Travel Requirements:
- This position will require travel several times per year. Travel and other expenses are reimbursable in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate profound knowledge and experience in environmental regulatory compliance, particularly with EPA standards, quality assurance management, and data quality.
- Skillfully analyze and obtain grants, consistently monitor economic developments in the environmental sector.
- Lead stakeholder engagement activities, providing environmental expertise to clients, and develop solutions to complex environmental issues.
- Actively support business development efforts by building relationships within the emergency management community, developing new business opportunities, and assisting in proposal preparation.
- Manage the overall operation and direction of the program or project.
- Develop strategies for achieving project goals and objectives.
- Develop and maintains Project Work Plan including budget and schedule.
- Serve as Primary Point of Contact between client stakeholders and project team.
- Provide written and oral reports to contract management and client representatives.
- Provide training and technical assitance to subrecipients.
- Attend monthly meetings to discuss RFIs/ pending reviews for HMGP, BRIC, FMA, FMA swift current.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including experience with Environmental Planning and Historic Preservation.
- Master's Degree in relevant field.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a diverse team and interact with multiple stakeholders.
- Analytical thinker with the ability to analyze complex situations, develop effective solutions, and lead policy and agenda development.
- High degree of initiative and independence, coupled with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
- Deep commitment to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate in Environmental Law or relevant professional certification or accreditation.
- Professional Registration or Certification in EPA Quality Assurance Management and Data Quality.
- Seven years of program and project management experience at a strategic level within state or local government, dealing with local, state, tribal, and/or federal agencies.
- Comprehensive understanding of FEMA, resiliency, preparedness missions, and mitigation, response, and recovery programs, including the National Disaster Recovery Framework, with a special emphasis on environmental planning and historic preservation.
- Proven success in analyzing and obtaining grants, monitoring economic developments in the environmental sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in environmental law, particularly experience with the EPA.

- All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection.
